Gary S. Silverman, Esq.

Gary Silverman is senior partner and a founder of the law firm of Silverman Theologou, LLP. He concentrates his practice in the areas of business law, creditor’s rights, and consumer and commercial collections and represents individuals; startup companies; large, closely held businesses; and public companies. His clients include federal credit unions, banks, construction material suppliers, construction contractors, retailers, manufacturers, solid waste disposal companies, and information technology service providers.

Gary has handled a wide range of corporate and business matters and has advised management, business owners, and purchasers of businesses on a variety of issues, including contract preparation and negotiation; formation of corporations; partnerships and limited liability companies; organization, operation, acquisition, and sale of their business interests; and, when necessary, financial reorganization of their businesses. Gary’s 32 years of experience in business, litigation, and consumer and commercial collections include preparing cases for court or arbitration throughout Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Pennsylvania, including filing lawsuits, replevin actions, lien filings, payment and performance bond claims, and pre-judgment and post-judgment attachments.

Gary is general counsel and advisor to numerous businesses and has served on the board of directors of the National Capital Area Arthritis Foundation, Intercom Communications Corporation, and Crius, Inc. He is a member and served as an ambassador of the Greater Washington Board of Trade. He has lectured to various business groups and organizations on topics such as business law, commercial law, construction law, commercial and consumer collections, and bankruptcy. Gary is a member of the American Bar Association and Maryland State Bar Association. He is a graduate of the State University of New York at Albany and the Antioch School of Law.
