MACUMA Board Member Inducted into the African-American CU Coalition Hall of Fame

MACUMA Board member Lynette Smith was recently inducted into the African-American Credit Union Coalition (AACUC) Hall of Fame. She was honored in a virtual induction ceremony held before the recent CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference in Washington, D.C.

In addition to her tireless work on behalf of MACUMA, Lynette has served as President/CEO of TruEnergy FCU in Springfield, VA for the past 12 years. She has been in the industry for 31 years and has also been awarded the NAFCU CEO of the Year for credit unions under $150 million in assets. Lynette is also an advocate for MACUMA.

The AACUC Hall of Fame was created to honor and recognize African-Americans who have and are contributing to the credit union movement. To be inducted, a credit union professional must have accomplished or achieved the following: provided in excess of 10 years of service to the credit union industry, worked to provide financial services for people in general and be able to identify at least four significant accomplishments, which benefited African-Americans’ access to financial capital.

Congratulations Lynette!!!
