Don DiMatteo has had a rewarding career, having served in a multitude of positions in the credit union industry. Throughout his career, he has been a credit union ambassador with a focus on improving smaller credit unions. DiMatteo began his career building the Collections Department for Marriott Employees FCU. Moving through his career, he accepted CEO positions with several different credit unions, including DC Employees FCU, Indian Head FCU, and Monocacy FCU. Outside of these positions, DiMatteo served as a director in the DC Credit Union League, director for Central Credit Union of MD, director on the CUNA board, and chairman of the MD Credit Union League.
DiMatteo was involved in many different committees throughout his long career, with his favorite being an education committee in which programs were put on to train CU staff, management, and volunteers. Upon retirement, DiMatteo went into consulting and continued his focus on smaller credit unions. He worked with Sperry Marine in Virginia, Pipefitters in Delaware, and Leber Brothers in Maryland. During his spare time, Don enjoys traveling, spending time with family, golfing in all the local credit union charity tournaments, and serving as a volunteer for the USO on Dover AFB. Don still remains very active, and he is currently the chairman of the board for Money One FCU.
