Afternoon Session (2:00 - 3:30 PM)
Red Flags Rule: Is Your Credit Union Ready? Kate Kortsch, Premier Solutions Group, Inc.
Identity theft claimed more than 27 million victims in the last five years, costing businesses and individuals more than $55 billion in 2003 alone. The FTC, the federal bank regulatory agencies, and the NCUA have issued regulations (the Red Flags Rule) requiring financial institutions and creditors to develop and implement written identity theft prevention programs, as part of the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act of 2003. The programs must be in place by November 1, 2008.
Join us following the luncheon as MACUMA Affiliate Premier Solutions Group will discuss the impact of this critical regulation and their product, Identity Theft Protection, which gives credit union members and staff vital defense, protection and recovery solutions with proactive services.
For planning purposes we ask that you please register online (Members, no cost/Non-members, $20). |
