Afternoon Educational Session 4:30 – 5:30 PM, May 7, 2012
Panel Discussion: Coaching – What’s It All About, and Is It for Me?
Lindsay Alexander, Holly Herman and Laurie Maddalena
Executive and team coaching have been around credit unions for more than a decade. Still, there are many questions surrounding this valuable professional development tool. What is coaching? What is the difference between a coach and a consultant? How can a coaching culture benefit your credit union? The panel will address these questions and more. Join us as trained, executive coaches discuss ways that coaching may benefit you and/or your staff. Panelists will be Lindsay Alexander, Holly Herman and Laurie Maddalena.
Laurie Maddalena is a
certified executive coach and leadership development consultant with Envision
Excellence, LLC, providing development programs for managers and executives,
executive and leadership coaching, and management training. Laurie is a certified
executive coach through The Coaches Training Institute, and she completed team
and organizational coaching training through The Center for Right Relationship
and Team Coaching International. She previously served as VP of Human
Resources/Organizational Development at Montgomery County Teachers FCU.
Lindsay Alexander spent
almost 20 years as President / CEO of NIH FCU. While at NIH FCU, Lindsay put
together a group of credit unions that became Ongoing Operations, a national
provider of DR/BR services. Today Lindsay’s
areas of expertise include organizational analysis; strategic planning,
corporate governance and human development. She is a candidate for
certification from the Institute of Professional Excellence in coaching, and
the International Coach Federation.
Holly Herman has over 25 years
experience in the financial services industry. She has held leadership
positions throughout her career. These include CEO to two large credit unions,
a political appointment as Chief of Staff to the NCUA Chairman, CFO, and election
to the CUNA Board of Directors. Hollie spent two years training as an executive
coach and has coached industry leaders and entrepreneurs during the past ten
years. Holly completed the executive coaching program at Georgetown University.
